Spring by Nate Bullock

I interned last winter at Kaleidoscope in Cincinnati. While I was there I met Nate Bullock, who at the time was a graduate student for Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati. Nate designed this elegant chair called "spring". It looks so inviting!

Come see the Design Harvest Festival this weekend!

"A Modern Day Design Market
Contemporary and sustainable design thrives on Grand Avenue, where for one autumn weekend the best local makers and collectors of design objects will open house and pop-up shop in an aesthetic marketplace. Vintage and antique objects find their afterlife amongst environmentally conscious and modern goods handcrafted by top Chicago designers."

Build Poster

Here is another image I wanted to share that I found on my computer. This is Build's limited edition poster for the Coast Modern documentary film. Build also designed the poster for the documentary Objectified. (via swiss legacy)

The Poundshop concept store

"The Poundshop concept store - part of this year's London Design Festival - stocks all manner of lovingly produced design curiosities from upcoming artists, all at the mind meltingly ridiculous price of just one, solitary English pound..." (via not cot)

Donna Wilson has such wonderful quirky products. I just love the "house shaped" cushion and the "up the garden path" blanket featured above.

Paper hats

"Designer naoto fukasawa has created a series of hats that are made entirely out of traditional
japanese washi-paper. the three pieces entitled 'ivy cap', 'hat', and 'tyrolean hat', are constructed
from a new type of paper called 'naoron' developed by washi-paper manufacturer onao which
withstands both moisture and weight, resulting in a lightweight material that does not tear easily."

Paper flowers

I have been noticing lots of paper flowers lately (in store fronts, in blogs, in weddings). They are so beautiful! (via eloise corr danch)

IKEA Cookbook

Oh my goodness! IKEA, you provide such good looking products! I would love to get my hands on this book! These are pictures of the ingredients. Aparently this cookbook is free, but the only place you can get it is in the kitchen section of Ikea stores in Sweden. Photos by Carl Kleiner

Quirky wallpaper

I have been looking through my inspiration folder on my desktop. I don't look through it often enough! I wanted to share a few things over the next few days that I've collected. This first post is of some photos I found online of kids rooms. I have saved these photos because of the playful objects and the quirky wallpaper in the background. How cool would it be to have a room similar to any of these?

Happy Pills

I mentioned earlier that my friend Kristina B. studied abroad this summer in Barcelona. She thoughtfully brought back a present for me, these Happy Pills. Her gift was perfect since I have a strong sweet tooth. The candy is from Spain, which she filled herself and I have to say the candy was pretty delicious. I am most impressed, however, at the packaging. So charming! Thanks Kristina for being so considerate!

Unique Designer Textiles

I love how accessible customizing your own stuff has become thanks to the internet. The pillows featured above are from a site called Envelop. Here, you will find unique designer textiles for sale. You can submit your designs and sell them on Envelop too! envelop.eu

"Remember how great it was when you discovered Threadless? G PURE

I am seduced! Check out this sexy energy drink called G PURE, made by the company that makes every design fans favorite bottled water, VOSS.

G Pure's website also mentions, "The G Pure Energy team has worked with top mixologists, bartenders and cocktail consultants to find the most delicious cocktails featuring the unique taste of G Pure Energy. Easy pairings include both white spirits (gin, vodka, tequila, rum, cachaça, pisco, rhum agricole) and the more challenging spirits such as scotch, cognac, añejo tequila, and añejo rum." Takeya Glass Water Bottle w/ Silicon Sleeve

Is there really a perfect water bottle out there? I am not sure I have found one yet. I have gone through several over the past couple of years and none of them have been the perfect one. Can you relate? With so many plastic bottles that are claimed to leech toxins into your water, it is hard to trust what is on the market. However, I've recently seen water bottles being made out of glass with a silicon sleeve that protects the glass from breaking. I am intrigued. The bottle featured above is a beautiful example of glass and silicon bottles. Perhaps it is worth considering! (via notcot.org)

Contemporary Wood Art Jewelry

This post is a little overdue, but I still want to share this with everyone! Gustav Reyes was one of my favorite vendors at the Renegade Craft fair this year. His wood bracelets are so elegant! You can view his website here elegantgustavreyes.com , but unfortunately if you are looking to purchase his jewelry, you can only buy his stuff at certain shops and craft fairs.

Sugar in Roman Numerals!

I am so excited that Notcot started their food blog, tasteologie! Good timing for thesis exploring. I wanted to share this post. Such a cute way of packaging! Gives me inspiration for other projects I am working on!

Candy made with the sweetest berries

"Designed by Neue: "Sugarfree Arctic Candy are made of berries growing north of the Arctic Circle. Cooled by the arctic wind and warmed by the midnight sun, these berries ripen at a slow pace and grow to be sweeter than other berries. Extreme weather makes extreme berries. "Urban Butik launched an innovative new personal design by Kähler at the NYIGF. Designed by Helena Rohner, My Life is a modern take on the traditional locket.
